These are definitely reach schools for me, but if all else fails, I hope to attend University of Florida in the fall, for I am a Florida resident. Chance me at Emory University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (out of state), Emory University, and Vanderbilt University?

In my college essay for Common App, I wrote about how I grew up the only biological child in a foster family with over 78 kids and 8 adopted ones. Low socioeconomic status. I have visited all three schools (Emory, UNCCH, VU), and fell in love with all of them, and have met a few professors and voice faculty as well. Chance me?
Forgot to add: 24/24 on my SAT Essay, first-gen, but not an URM. I also have a recommendation from the Dean of Admissions at Emory. Attended Brevard Music Center in 2015 and 2016. I’ll chance back!
Sounds like you will be a shoo-in at Emory. And Vanderbilt will be a high match. I have been researching Chapel Hill though, and they take very few OOS applicants and rely very heavily on test scores, so that one sounds like a little iffy.
Nobody is a “shoo-in” at Emory, and all three schools are reaches. Please make sure that you have some academic and financial safety schools on your list. Your essay topic sounds interesting- good luck!
I just re-read your extracurricular activities and they are quite impressive! Your essay topic is also interesting, as was mentioned. Your class rank is high but your scores are on the low side for these schools. As long as you have some safety and match schools you are fine. Once again good luck to you!
I think you will get accepted to Emory. UNC is definitely possible, but I think Vanderbilt is unlikely with a 27 ACT. Being a music major might compensate for somewhat low scores though.
