Chances at Emory...?

Hey yall,
I would like to go to emory this year and i am applying early decision this november. Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.25 (Maybe 3.5)
SAT: 1330 (Maybe Higher)
ACT: 30
SAT IIs: 790 American History
630 Writing
APs: 5 American History
3 Language and Composition
JV and V letters in Football and Crew (Rowing)
Limited Activities (7-8 throughout whole high school career)
Asian in a low-minority private school
Uncle as alumni
How are my chances and do you have any other schools that are viable reaches, matches, and/or safeties?
Thank You

in my opinion you shouldnt apply early to emory. the applicant pool for colleges early is more competitive than regular decision. your GPA is a little low. i have a friend who applied to emory early last year and was REJECTED with a 3.7 GPA, 1460 SATs and played 3 varsity sports. when i read your post a few other schools for you came to mind. how about William and Mary (match), Tulane (match), University of Rochester (safety, I have a friend who LOVES it there), or University of North Carolina (match). As for reaches, maybe try Bates (you seem like youd fit in there) or Bowdoin. And by the way your "alumni uncle" really wont help at all...sorry if that sounds rude but by by experience i know its the truth.

Hey Jerk Face!!!
I got into Emory and I am getting a scholarship, so you can tell your "freind" that he is a moron. Good Job!!!

first of all, congrats on getting into Emory, i'm sure all your efforts paid off
second of all, that wasn't very nice to someone who actually took the time and effort to post a reply to a chances post
third of all, i feel sorry for Emory

well jonoum congratulations...you beat the odds. i dont recall ever insulting you but if you feel the need to resort to name calling by all means go ahead. apparently your maturity was not taken into consideration by emory admissions. and by the way my "friend" is a "she" and she got accepted to georgetown. best of luck at emory.

Maybe Emory realized that she was too good for them =)

Congrats... My friend was also accepted to Georgetown as well!
