Chances at Engineering Schools

I am a rising senior interested in engineering. I am a white male. I want to know my chances at getting into stanford, but also what the other top tier engineering schools are other than caltech and mit.

SAT- math 760 reading 730 writing 740
ACT 34
SATII- math2 800 physics 790

GPA 3.98 unweighted 4.8 weighted
Class rank around 5 out of 515ish

EC's
Varsity Tennis starter State champs in 2009 and will be captain in 2010
Interact service club
Beta Club
Youth Tennis coach/instructor
Youth Basketball coach
Literacy camp counselor

Awards
Caltech Signature Award
National Merit Scholar
Scholar Athlete
Varsity Letter

Also if anyone goes to stanford or went can you describe it?

Cornell has a very very good engineering program (I don’t know the rank or anything but I know it is world class and beats out the other ivies).

Anyways, onto the chances.

I think your ACT will make you slightly more competitive than if you submitted your SAT. That given, I’d say you have as good a chance as anybody as far as the numbers go. Extracurriculars are numerous but lack the “passion” that everybody talks about these days. Stanford is the Harvard of the west and is extremely competitive. Hundreds of perfect students get turned down from there each year. Best of luck!
