I am planning on applying in about mid February to mid march

anyone.....?

NYU (Tisch)--toughest film school in country to get into along with USC--Reach

Chapman--Match (your best chance except for the safety school below)--average is around 3.4 to 3.5, but preference goes to in-state students like yourself

USC--Reach (average transfer GPA for film school--Cinema/TV--here is about 3.75 to 3.8)

UCLA--Slight Reach (average transfer to UCLA is 3.66 GPA--and film school is about at the average)

FSU (I know I know no one gets in but my mom got her Phd from Fla State and Alumni relations is a factor in determination)--can't say here, since I really don't know enough about their film program and admissions policy

GVSU(safe school)--(I presume you mean Grand Valley State University in Michigan)--Safety to Safe Match

P.S. Taking a heavy courseload (20 units) does look good on your application--especially at USC and Chapman--but like I said, the GPA is too low for USC. (Does help at Chapman, though)

If I were you, I'd also consider UC Santa Cruz which has a pretty good film school that is improving quickly--and has some connections with people in Hollywood. Also, they just started a new graphic game design major that is hoping to take advantage of some of the film techniques for incorporation into the digital games that get designed. (I understand they are working with some of the people at Electronic Arts--the maker of Madden football--on this).

I am really looking into chapman, i hear great things about their growing program and feel it is a good opportunity to be part of the growth. I am not sure if I really want to attend USC. I have heard that USC trains for the hollywood system whereas NYU is for the more artistic. Anyways thanks for the honest input!

Anyone else?

bump bump bump
