<p><em>updated thread with new college listings</em></p>

<p>I slacked off most of my high school years in terms of academia, but i'm working very hard to end on a positive note! My extracurricular activities are relatively solid, so hopefully I can fall back on them!</p>

<p>Sat I: 1150</p>

<p>Reading - 600
Math - 550</p>

<p>Act: 24</p>

<p>Unweighted GPA: 2.7
Weighted GPA: 3.5</p>

<p>Class curriculum was relatively stressful. All IB courses Freshman through Junior year, a couple of AP classes ( AP European History, AP World History ), currently enrolled in two DE courses.</p>

<p>(Striving for all A's my entire senior year, so after my 1st quarter grades are in, my GPA should be a good .2 or so points higher )</p>

<p>Extracurricular / Personal activities:</p>

<p>Band 4 years:
- Participant in: Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (2004), Hollywood Christmas Parade (2006), yearly FBA competitions for marching, and yearly statewide competitions during concert season.
- Trumpet Squad Leader during my junior year
- Trumpet Section Leader during my senior year (in charge of 24 other students)<br>
- Member of the Jazz Ensemble </p>

<p>Club Founder and President of Music Aficionados:
-Founded my junior year with the intent of increasing musical awareness involving every genre of music.</p>

<p>Member of Senior Board</p>

<p>Member of Riverview Film Society</p>

<p>Piano student:
- 9 years of private lessons</p>

<p>Trumpet student:
- Taught at school ( Kiltie Band ) and privately for 5 years</p>

<p>Tae Kwon Do student:
- 7 years
- Participated in several tournaments in which I’ve placed third for both Sparring and Form.
- 1st Degree Black Belt.</p>

<p>Community Service</p>

<li>40 hours of environmental work, mainly revolving around cleaning the beach and surrounding areas.</li>
<li>40 hours of helping at an assisted living home.</li>
<li>18 Hours at Relay For Life; Cancer Fundraiser / Event</li>

Northeastern University ( reach )
University of Alabama ( reach )</p>

<p>Also, are there any other good out of state schools I might have a chance in? I would LOVE to get out of Florida.</p>

<p>alright bro... try for Rutgers!!! its an absolutely amazing school.. one of the best.. but again, it is a crazy competitive school from someoen outta New Jersey.. if you were in Jersey w/ 1150 score.. u'd get in lol well.. reserach Rutgers.. absolutely amazing..</p>
