Major Aerospace Engineering

Chances at: (applying for finanacial aid)
Georgia Institute of Technology
University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
Embry-Riddle (Fl)
University of Washington

If there are other universities with good aerospace engineering and are mathing, please suggest. Thanks in advance

i think youll easily get into Ga. tech specially being from bulgaria

btw, check out the military academies if you want a super engineering degree (Naval Academy is awesome)

Thanks,chaudinker89 :)

If you are an International and asking for aid, I am not sure whether GA tech and Michigon give aid. Please check this out as it may affect your chances. Are you planning to join Fall 06? Because Michigon is rolling admission and they started admitting from Sept, if I am not mistaken.

I am planning to join (eventually) 2007. I am waiting for a reply from Gatech about financial aid for international students. I hope that they give

dont go to georgia tech. princeton reiview has them on the list of least happy students. besides, reggie ball is the worst quarterback in college football...that said, atlanta is also a lame city

I did not know this- about happiness index. How does Princeton review rates Carnegie, Cornell, Michigon, Berkeley and Urbana? These are places I am applying and I do not want to go to a place where people are quite unhappy. Since I am an International and has no other way of knowing, thankful if you could oblige.

I can tell you many Carnegie Mellon student are very happy with our social lives and academics. I did consider Cornell last year but the location (Ithaca) and its students tend to be a bit less satisfied.

I would probably say the rest of the schools have pretty happy students.

Least happy students???:(But isn't it one of the best engineering universities in the USA? Hope that there is someone in this forum that can prove that claim ( about the happiness I mean)wrong.

ajh33,

Jon Garner will resurrect GaTech soon as Reggie leaves

i hope so...reggie ball sucks. About the happiness thing tho...theres a list for the schools with happiest students and unhappiest, i kno that gatech is on least happy students.

If not Gatech, what do you propose? Do you know a university with as good aerospace engineering as Gatech (Gatech is second in this major) and with happy students :) ?

The main problem with GaTech is that it has no campus. It's right smack downtown in Atlanta, but on the side of Atlanta with the industry -- not the fun hangouts. Unless you like greasy, disgusting food (ala The Varsity), there's not much around to engage you. When I visited a friend there (I go to Duke currently), it was almost a culture shock! Mind you that Durham isn't the world's greatest college town, but at least we have SOME restaurants, shops, and clubs that are geared toward the student population.

eh........no

alexi! Here is the list of ranked Universities for Aerospace/ Aeronautical as per US News:1) MIT 2) Georgia Tech 3) Michigan-Ann Arbor4) Caltech 5) Purdue 6)Stanford 7) Princeton 8) Urbana 9) Ut Austin. In this MIT, Caltech, Princeton and stanford are of course very selective. Rest should not be that difficult. Some are also less costly like Purdue. Purdue gives also merit scholarship to International-very limited. Explore these in depth.
If you are hell bent on Aerospace, Georgia Tech is not that bad in happiness. A lot of Asians had studied there whom I know and they were not that unhappy. But then it is relative. One cannot compare Stanford or MIT or Caltech or Princeton in the same breadth as others listed above.
Hope this had been of some use.

Thank you for helping. I will think about where to apply. But as I see no matter the happiness Gatech is before Caltech and Stanford in matters of Aerospace Engineering which is also an important factor. I have time to think about it Thanks again

I would go to GATech just so I could eat at The Varsity.
