chances at Geneseo and other SUNYs?

I just finished my junior year and I think I could get into a few of the mediocre SUNYs, but I'm not sure about Geneseo and some other better ones like Binghamton and Stony Brook.

GPA- around 88%

SAT- 2040
CR:730
Math:570
Writing:740

ACT: 28

I took two APs this year, music theory and English Language. Didn't take the exam for music theory but have around a 97 average, expecting a 4 in english and probably around a 90 average. I also took honors english and honors global last year, and am signed up for AP Lit and AP Spanish next year (might drop spanish though).

Also I am retaking both ACT and SAT next fall. I will hopefully do better with some preparation, especially on math. (I did not prepare at all for either and for the ACT had no idea what to expect. I even walked in a few minutes late after the break and cut off like 5 minutes from the reading section.)

For extra curriculars I did cross country this past fall and ultimate frisbee in the spring and plan to do both again next year, I have been in environmental club for two years, have played piano for the past two years, and played clarinet in the symphonic band for the past 7 years. Last year I also volunteered in a 4th grade classroom once a week to help kids out with homework and stuff, and planned a project for them to do.

This summer I am taking two required high school classes to get them out of the way for next year and a history class at the local community college. I also have asked two teachers who I think can write pretty good recommendations and I think I can write a good essay.

anyone?..

Binghamton: Match
Stony Brook: Low match
Geneseo: Low match

Thank you! Anyone else? Also, isn’t Binghamton considered sort of on par with Geneseo? I think of Stony Brook as a little easier to get into than them

Yes Geneseo is about equal to Binghamton, although you will always hear some say that one is better than the other. I think your SAT score is good for both schools, but your GPA is a little low. The “lower” SUNY schools such as Oneonta and Brockport ask for a GPA of 90. That being said, I think you have a chance of getting into both Bing and Gen. You have a greater chance of getting into SB.

is that gpa w? if so i would say bing might be a high match, stony brook a match, and geneseo a high match. if its unweighted and you have a low 90’s weighted, i see you getting into any suny school you want

chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1519195-chance-me-lehigh-ed-couple-others-will-chance-back.html

I want to add that Stony Brook IS a " suitcase school." Most students ( not all) go home on the weekends. I don’t know if this will be an issue for you, but I thought I would mention it.

My GPA was unweighted. I don’t know how to calculate it as a weighted percentage, but weighted on the 4 point scale I think it is about 3.56.

And thank you, that’s interesting about Stony Brook being a suitcase school. I haven’t thought about it but I guess I would be trying to avoid that…I definitely wouldn’t be going home on the weekends as I live a few hours away. Of course, it is still a good school and I wouldn’t base my decision entirely on that.
