are you being serious? you're in...

also just out of interest why does someone with your stats and from Minnesota want to go to GMU? you could get into a much better school that's closer to home and probably cheaper... anyways I applied to GMU as my safety (in-state) and both my bro and sis are alum... you can hit me up with any other questions you might have about GMU.

Because there is a lot of diversity there (specifically, Afghans)

Could you recommend any other unis?

I prefer public, urban area, diverse. Arabic major offered, too.

Please......

yea there is A LOT of diversity at GMU. A LOT of Muslim kids, not sure exactly how many are Afghan... The Pakistani Student Association, Indian Student Association, and Bengali Student Association are all really big too.

Using GMU as a measuring bar not too many other schools will seem diverse... but maybe you should look into Temple University. It's public, in an urban area, and pretty diverse. I don't think it offers an Arabic major. For that matter, GMU doesn't either. GMU only offers TWO YEARS of Arabic, but it does offer an Islamic Studies minor. I don't know what Temple offers.

Are you sure I'll get accepted? I am OOS, and I did turn it in late (today)

Bump up to top

You are easily in. Check out University of Maryland - it is a very diverse college and much better academically than George Mason.

American if you like the GMU area...
i agree with Datkid though, you're wayy above par...they might even reject you simply because they might think you're applying to it as a safety (i know kids this has happened to...one really did want to go and had to appeal the decision and basically had to prove he wanted to attend there and nowhere else) but i presume that since you're OOS, they'd accept you...
try searching for other schools with the same diversity, unless you're hooked for GMU...its not a bad school, but theres definently better...i've also heard it has a big commuter campus feel (a lot of 30+ people taking night classes) so you might want to look into the student life...maybe take a visit, or PM me as i know the area very well (live about 15-20min from the main campus) and know a bunch of people that attend

All right. I'll apply to Maryland, too.

University of Maryland: Baltimore County

That one, right? And where else?

Remember: diversity, big uni, urban, public

How much scholarship do you guys think I'll receive at GMU?

U of MD- College Park is the main campus not Baltimore County.

I don't know much about College Park. Maybe if you're going for a more Urban feel Baltimore is for you.

Oh, ok. As long is it has an Arabic program, it'll be fine with me.

I hope I get a lot of scholarship for GMU, though...

Quick question for you folks. I just started the FAFSA today... Is that a bad thing?

no starting the FAFSA today is fine. try to get it filed before the 15th.

and you won't get any scholarship money for GMU... there scholarship consideration deadline was DECEMBER 1st... if you just turned it in today you passed the deadline lol... shouldn't you know this?

LOL damn I got owned

yea and i hear they give poor financial aid to out of staters :(

Damn... I guess I'll have to settle for the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (my safety school).
