hey, i was wondering what my chances are at Georgetown for next year. I go to a fairly competetive Jesuit prep school. (an average sat a little over 1200 on the old, 1800 on the new, 99% of grads attend a 4 year college) I have around a 3.9 unweighted gpa. I will have 7 ap classes by graduation, 3 done by the end of this year. All my other classes are either honors or advanced, including 2 languages, spanish and ancient greek.

Sat 1 scores-
Math- 760
Critical reading- 690
Writing- 770

Ap Euro (as a soph)- 5

SAT 2's
literature- 660
US history- 750
Biology- 590 (took it in 9th grade was told it wont hurt much)

I have been playing the piano for 8 years and participate in the NYSSMA competitions. I am also on the yearbook, and am editor-in-chief of my school's newspaper.

i got into gtown with
math - 720
CR - 680
writing - 700

sat 2's
math lvl 2 - 720
chem - 690
us history - 660

4.5 gpa, and 5's on ap tests (i dont think ap tests really count much though)
6 ap classes by senior year

you can compare with my stats (notice sat's arent that stellar)
i dont think u'll have to worry much
but then again i think my strength lay in my essays
i was always strong in that
and
i know, according to a letter, gtown really liked me cuz of community service.. i had TONs of hours (1000 hours at least).. and gtown recently in 2001 made a center for justice or sometin(i forgot the official title) that was dedicated to service in its school and community.. community service is a part of their jesuit tradition as well as the topic of my general essay

but again it depends on what school ur applying to..
i applied to gtown college's premedicine program
so i guess comm serv was appropriate to what i wanted to do

hope this helps

btw do you go to loyola high school in los angeles by any chance?
