I'm hispanic male.

Senior Class

AP Tests:
AP Computer Science A - 4
AP US History - 3
Haven't taken the ones from Senior year yet.

Class rank 17/335 (~6%)

What are my chances of getting in to GTech. I plan to apply as early as October, so I can qualify for the President Scholarship. I don't hold out much hope for getting it, but at least I will be notified of acceptance at the earliest possible time.

I think your chances are good. If you think you can do better on SAT math, retake the whole thing. Did you win any math related awards?

Not really. In 8th grade I won a competition during National Engineers Week. It was known as the Future City Competition. I won for all of Florida and came 5th place in the nation. Nationals they paid for me and the team to go to Washington DC with about 47 other teams. It was nationally recognized, however the fact that it was in 8th grade means I don't know if I can use it.

I also have about 200 community service hours, job experience working at the University of Miami, and twice a month I tutor underclassmen in math.

bump for more opinions

What do you want to major in?

Electrical Engineering.

A little more help please..... I got a 5 on the AP Computer Science A Test. I took US History and got a 2 though.

I would say you have a really good shot. My bro was admitted there a couple years ago (700 V, 680M, top 5%, not very good ecs). So your in pretty good shape. Also considering you are hispanic and applying early, I would think you are in. Just make sure to send your SAT scores only, not your ACT. Also did you take the SATII in math, not sure if it is required, but would probably make you look even better. Good Luck

I'm going to take the Math SAT II soon. I was an idiot and didn't sign up for it earlier. Will I be too late if I take it at the next available date? And I thought a 28 on the ACT would help me get in?
