Hey zmcm151! I see we used quite a similar template
As far as academics, your average and SAT seem to be a little below both your school’s and BU’s averages. I also see you have taken 3 AP classes, is your schedule as “full” as it could be? However, grades alone do not decide acceptance. Your athletics and clubs are decent, and work experience always helps.
Although BU could be a bit of a reach for you, it is still attainable. Making sure your keep your grades up and writing pretty good essays could be helpful.
Hope this helps and perhaps I will see you at BU one day if we both get in!

Thanks purplepug13… Do you think my chances are better applying ED or should i just apply RD

If you really feel like BU is your number one choice then ED is definitely the way to go. As each round of admission occurs, your chances decrease. Put simply, in ED you’re competing for a spot against ~4000 students, while in RD you’re competing against ~18000. I’m sure you can tell which odds are better.

As an engineering student, your level of math completed in high school is not as advanced as they would expect to see. An engineering program will follow a very specific curriculum so if you are unsure, consider looking at applying to general studies. What made BU your #1 choice? Good luck!

@paveyourpath and @purplepug13 do you think i have a better chance of admission if i apply directly to CGS

I’m no expert but I do think applying CGS rather than engineering might be a better option. Be sure to give yourself enough time to draft your essays.
