Hi guys, i’m currently going into senior year and I have started to really think about where I want to apply.
I want to know what my chances are to get in and any input and advice.
GPA: 3.4 unweighted, 4.3 weighted
Gender: M
Ethnicity: White
Top 10% in class
SAT: 1210
ACT: 25
Total of 9 AP course taken.
350 service hours
5 clubs (two of which i’m president of) + Cross Country for 3 years.
UF Legacy
Does the 9 AP courses taken include your senior year?
UF uses a holistic review process, and I’d say your weighted GPA falls within the middle 50% range of 4.2-4.5. Your SAT/ACT scores fall a tad bit below, however, those won’t be the deciding factor.
My biggest advice…
Make your essay authentic, and really communicate how you can contribute to the UF’s diversity. A strong essay can make it or break it.
Highlight leadership, and commitment in your resume - explicitly details roles, hours of involvement, (any community impact, money fundraised, etc)
The “legacy” isn’t really considered that much. There’s thousands of legacies that apply to UF each year. I’d say you are a very competitive applicant. Best of luck! =)
