I'm a soon-to-be Cornell freshman (made my deposit this past Tuesday at the university during Cornell Days :)) and I was wondering how likely it would be for me to get placed in the JAM (Just About Music) residence hall. If I couldn't get into JAM, I would want to live in a regular residence hall... but apparently it's either choices 1, 2, and 3 for a themed community or simply random placement in a normal residence hall. Hence, I'd only like to apply to JAM if I'm pretty certain that I'll get in. There are 144 spaces available--does anyone know how likely it is that I'll be placed in JAM?

well, whats your SAT score?

1400, but I really don't see how (or what) SAT score has to do with residential hall placement...

jam is not hard to get into, just write a decent essay. Selection for program houses have nothing to do with your academics.

sorry i was kidding about that...cause people are like "do you think i can get into "______?!?" <--insert ivy league school and people always say stuff like "well what was your SAT score?" so yeah, sorry bad joke, I know nothing about jam other than that i might want it soph year.

JAM is pretty easy to get into. I'd only do it if you're pretty harcore into your music though.

I play piano and i was interested in JAM but I'm very classical and I wasn't sure if that's what would fit in as much. So if anybody has any insight as to how the music works in that house I'd appreciate you sharing it.
