Chances at getting into Penn State Schreyers

What are my chances at Penn State Schreyers?

I attend a private Jesuit high school that is pretty competitive. I currently have a 97 GPA unweighted and im probably in the top 5-10% of my class (they don't rank). I have a 2230 on my SATS with a 780 on Math and 700 on Verbal plus a 750 on the Writing. I got a 750 on Math Level I Subject Test and a 740 on Math Level II plus a 700 on Chemistry Subject Test.

I took(or am going to take) A.P. Chemistry, A.P. English, A.P. Biology, A.P. Physics, A.P. Calculus, Honors Spanish, and Advanced Computers. I don't have any scores back from A.P. tests yet.

My activites include 3 years on bowling, 2 years on speech and debate, 2 years on school newspaper, 2 years spanish club, 2 years computer club, 2 years math team, 4 years spirit club, and 2 years freshmen orientation.

I was a National Merit Commended, honorable mention on National Spanish Exam, and gold on National Latin Exam.

I have volunteered over 40 hours teaching pre-school and spent a month in Mexico doing service work in an orphanage.

Also I'm planning on majoring in a medicine related field and I live in PA (not sure if that helps at all) . Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

..........

Is that the program where they only accept 20 people a year?

Yah, my friend got into that Penn state program, it's like direct admit to a med school and accelerated program right? His stats were lower than yours and he got in w/o any URM status, so you look like you have a good shot. Are you OOS or in state?

In-state.
And also what does URM mean?

under represented minority, i'm not sure what minorities are considereed URM. but thats what it means

Thanks....

"Is that the program where they only accept 20 people a year?"
No, you must be thinking of something else. Schreyers accepts about 300 students each year.

@Victorino, your stats are very good. Just write some killer essays and you'll have a great shot at getting in. I'll also be applying to Schreyers this fall.

Thanks and yeah I thought they accepted like 200-300 people.
