I am currently a senior in highschool and will be applying to a penn state campus. My gpa is currently 3.2 and I have a 1700 sat score. I have pretty good ECs. I do not live in Pennsylvania though. I have seen the requirments for the non main campuses are pretty low. I was wondering if I have a good chance to make it? And if I get into a branch campus can i transfer to the main campus after 2 years or so?

If you take some sat 2s I thinks ■■■ could help you, but you might be on the low side for penn state

With those stats, I’d definitely recommend applying to the main campus as a bit of a reach, as well as applying to branch campuses as matches and safeties. And yes, you can easily attend a branch campus for a year or two and then transfer to the main campus (or even to a “better” school, if you want).

Beyond that, you might want to retake the SAT and try your best to bump up your GPA with solid grades next semester. Then you’ll have a higher chance of acceptance at the main campus.

Good luck, wherever you end up applying! :)

Penn State U-Park: High match
Penn State Altoona: Safety

Both your GPA and SAT are below average. PSU main is a reach. I am 98% sure PSU does not consider SAT 2 scores, and am 100% sure they are not required for adimssion.

If you are not a PA resident, I would not suggest paying OOS tuition for a branch campus.
