I am a junior from california and UCSB is by far the school i am most interested in, i have a cousin who attends there and a sister living in the area. I stress about it everyday and its my number one choice, but if i had a second option it would be santa clara. My dad is an alumn.

SAT1:1770-Cr680M530W560
Waiting on my results from my second test date
Freshman-3.66

Soph.-3.9

Junior-4.33

1Ap 3 Honors- Will take 2Ap and 3 honors senior year

EC: Not much, Three years on the school newspaper, one year as Editor and Chief. Community service for special olympics one semester CSF

UCSB is a match. His UC GPA is most likely 3.8-4.1. That puts him above the average for SB. The SAT is a bit low, but the GPA makes up for it. I'd say you're definately in.

please don't tell people they are definitely in. A school is either a match, reach, or safety. No one is definitely in anywhere.
OP, you really need to bring up your SATs. Have you taken any prep classes?

What's your class rank? If you're from California, and you're in the top 4% of your class, you qualify for that ELC thing wherein you're guaranteed a slot at one of the UCs. Sometime around the time you find out whether you qualify for ELC or not (around fall of Senior year), if you do qualify for ELC, some of the UCs will send you letters saying that you're in as long as you complete an application (I got one saying that from UC Davis) or something like that, but not specifically saying that you're in as long as you complete an application (I got one of those kinds of letters from UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, UC Merced, and UC Riverside)

So yes, you can say you're definitely in somewhere, as long as its the school that tells you that, and not some random people on collegeconfidential.

i just bought the princeton review book and took a lot of practice tests...before my first test the only subject i had concentrated on was cr and it paid off so i hope that the trend will continue with my results from this last test
