I am a rising 12th grader. I have a 3.0 UW and a 3.3 Weighted GPA. I go to a very competitive high school in the top 100 in the nation. I have taken 3 AP classes so far and will be taking 3 more next year, and have passed all my AP exams.

My first SAT was 1760, but i am retaking it and should get a 2000.

I have wrestled 4 years high school, Varsity letter 3 times, county 5th place and 3rd in my region. I was in the interact club and environmental club.

Do you think I will be accepted if I have a strong essay?

I also forgot to mention that I live in Georgia

Dude you don’t have much of a chance since GPA is the most important factor but if you want any chance at all make straight A’s first semester senior year. GL

2% had h.s. GPA between 3.0 and 3.24

Yeah, that GPA is low. But still, some people get in with low GPAs.

All I can recommend is that you get all A’s this year and raise your SATs to 2000+.

im in my 2nd yr here in athens. i had a ****ty gpa too, but i got a 2310 on the sat. just kill the standardized tests like a ■■■■—you need to spend hours of practice. i did the whole blue book. gl

3.19 if rmbr

Thanks a lot for the advise everyone. My SAT scores are around 2000. If I can get it up to a 2000 at least will that help my chances? I’m pretty close to a 2000 on the practice tests and have finished the blue book, currently on Princeton’s 11 practice tests. Also… how much will a strong essay help in the admissions?
