I am a rising freshman at the Global Business Honors program at the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham. After souring on my initial choices of Emory/Vandy, I chose Fordham as a local stopgap to figure out where I really want to be. I'm looking to transfer into McDonough at Georgetown (first option), Carroll at Boston College, or the regular College Arts of Sciences at Notre Dame? I am also planning to fill out a transfer app for Northwestern.

How would my transfer chances stand with a 3.6 or above at Fordham, a 2220 SAT (1490 M/R), and a 91 unweighted GPA at a specialized HS in New York City? I also had a national leadership position in a debate organization and plenty of GOP volunteer work. SAT IIs of 750 US History and 700 World History. Interning over the summer at a New York financial firm as a finance department intern.

I will also add that I’m more than willing to chance back as a very recent college applicant to a number of top 25 schools.

I’m not very experienced with this, but based on what you’ve given, I’d say Boston College and Notre Dame are pretty good matches, and Georgetown and Northwestern are high matches/slight reaches. I think a good essay would be especially helpful for your situation, and the leadership position/internship will help.

Your SAT/GPA/SAT II are all at an acceptable level for any of the colleges you mentioned! I am not too familiar with fordham or the transfer process, but if you keep a good GPA at Fordham you should have a great shot (esp. with the internship!). Since you mentioned Vandy, Emory, and Gtown, please chance back and send me a pm, I would love to hear about your app. experience (acceptance, etc.) with those three… thanks! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1171011-ap-scores-need-chances-duke-emory-georgetown.html
