Chances at Harvard and U of Chicago

I was wondering about my chances at Harvard, which I'm considering though not fully sold on, and University of Chicago, which I REALLY need to get into.

My stats, briefly (erm...sorry, it's hard to make these things brief):

High School: Public Magnet
SAT: 1600
ACT: 35 science, 35 math, 35 english, 36 reading, 35 composite
SAT 2: 800 math 2c, 790 US History, 760 Writing
AP scores: 5's on Environmental Science, European History, US History, English Composition, Calculus BC and AB subscore
Academic Awards: National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar with Distinction

Senior Course load (I take half days of school so I have more time for my EC): AP Psychology, AP Physics, AP Statistics, AP Government, AP Literature

Race: I'm mixed white and armenian, but I'm not specifying my ethnicity on apps.

EC/Special Talent: Ballet, ballet ballet. That's all I do. Basically, for every school you want to go to, you audition through national audition tours that consider thousands of people for 100-200 spots. I've trained at School of Ballet Chicago in the Balanchine method, Boston Ballet School, and North Carolina Dance Theatre School. I'm also trained in jazz, modern, and character dance.
I was accepted into but declined the offer to train at Joffrey Ballet School New York, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, and Orlando Ballet School.
I have performed a number of roles (I detail this on my ballet resume, with photos) and learned a number of roles licensed through the George Balanchine trust, with the Ballet Chicago Studio Company, etc etc etc (the list is long but suffice it to say that I'm heavily involved in ballet).

Both of my essays are unconventionally written, but stirring. One is on ballet, one is eclectic and random (fitting for U of C).

Of my recs, the one that I read was stellar, the other I have no idea.

My GPA is something like 3.97 UW, and 4.8 weighted (but ugh, my school weights so much, it means nothing). My school recently got rid of rank, but prior to the elimination I was ranked 6 out of 450-500 students (fluctuates year to year).

I'm applying to Harvard and U of C, regular decision.

dude u got a 1600 are u seriously concerned?

lol...oh is there anyway to cheat when filling in SAT score ?

Heh, yes, I am concerned, in a nutshell. Harvard and yale still reject at least 40 percent of their 1600's.

your chances are greater than 99 percent of the applicants to harvard and u of chicago. it is obvious that you are smart enough to realize that

in that case, ballet is a great hook and stands out compared to the typical varsity football player, president of so and so club..

I'm still kinda worried about only having one EC though. So many people here list all these crazy things they do (founded such and such, president of such and such, varsity sports, etc etc) and that really is all I do.

I Am Gonna Say This Once More.... You Got A 1600

Erm...wait...did you type that before or after I did mine...I hate the intarweb.

hah...it would seem as if i posted after.

cheating tips any1?

Ha, um, I have no idea. It's not worth it to cheat, too many kids get too into test prep these days anyway - it's just feeding the corporate monster.

That said, don't take classes or anything, just take practice tests on your own, that's all I did. Psat said I was going to get a 1480, and everyone says you can't raise your score more than 100 points. I did a few weeks of taking practice tests on my own at home, and it just happened. Much better than shelling out the bucks for those classes or anything.

i meant cheating in sending in sum1 else's scorings , and passing them as ur own...im not rlly gonan do this..im just curious

I'm pretty sure they make it unpossible for you to do that.

Oh, I forgot. For U of C, I'm a "legacy". My mother, father, and grandfather attended.

ohlookasquirrelly poster who is pretending not to know what's going on. Do you take pleasure in seeing people say that you're a shoo-in? You're other posts indicate that you are serious, not a trouble-making poster, so I'll assume you'e a bit insecure.
Anyway, you're clearly exceptionally or maybe incredibly accomplished, and the triple legacy at U of C won't hurt anything. Good luck. You remain squirrelly.
Eat lots of nuts for Boston and Chicago winters.

^^ "unpossible" is NOT a word Ms. 1600

Before you question my grammar, please realize that this is an online forum where it's easy to make errors in favor of expedience.

"Unpossible" is a tongue-in-cheek joke that I picked up from a friend of mine. I do realize that you were angry and replying fast, but I really wish people would take more time in such cases.

In at Chicago... probably in at Harvard, and I don't say that second one often.

Ok, recap here...

SAT: 1600 (INCREDIBLE! DON'T YOU REALIZE THAT?)
ACT: 35 science, 35 math, 35 english, 36 reading, 35 composite (It's still 99 percentile)
SAT 2: 800 math 2c, 790 US History, 760 Writing (Ok, maybe not writing. BUT STILL IMPRESSIVE!)
AP scores: 5's on Environmental Science, European History, US History, English Composition, Calculus BC and AB subscore (And you just accomplished the almost impossible again....)
Academic Awards: National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar with Distinction (Forget the AP Scholar, but NMSC Semifinalist! One of the lucky few in the country)

Quit worrying, because you WILL, repeat, WILL make it into Harvard and UChicago!!

(Just don't slack off on the apps or the essays - UChicago especially. If you do, then I withdraw my above statement)
