recs are good. essays should be good (hopefully).

heres the thing: i have a ridiculous amount of b’s. this will undoubtedly hurt me. what can i do?

you can tell the adcoms that at your school, Bs stand for Bexcellent!

in other words, your rank basically disqualifies you for Harvard. it suggests that 34 students perform better academically in school. your high ACT and low subject tests show that you have potential, but do not work hard enough. this hurts you.

your ECs are good, especially debate, but they can't completely reverse your unimpressive academics

in all, you have a 10% chance if you apply SCEA

Eh, I wouldn't say his rank disqualifies him. Top 4% is pretty respectable. 34 kids may have done better, but 920 didn't do as well. It's the same as being 4th in 100, and no one could really say that rank disqualifies somebody.

How do you get to be president of an 'honor society'?

mccloud:
a. sweet username
b. b's are for BOBVIOUSLY for bastonishingly bimpressive
c. my high act only shows the act is stupid
d. enjoyable observations, but what should/can i actually do?

you dont have a low rank, you're in the the top 5% (how is that low...?). Plus, your ec's and rank percentage make up for the b's that yo'uve gotten. I say you have the same chance as anyone else who decides to apply (unless you find a hook)
