<p>My friend wanted to know her chances at any of the Ivies with the following stats. just completed junior year</p>

<p>GPA: 4.0, unweighted
SAT I: 2400
SAT II: Lit(800), Chem(800), and Math II(800)
ACT: 35
Rank: 1/125<br>
PSAT: 223 (prob NMSF)
very small high school (pop. 400) in rural Ohio; only 2 AP courses offered, no Honrs courses</p>

<p>9th grade: Algebra II, Geometry, PE, Health 9, Spanish II, CP English 9, US History, Biology</p>

<p>9th grade summer: Attended Northwestern program; received "A" grade in Biology course</p>

<p>10th grade: Spanish III, Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry, CP English 10, Chemistry, Advanced Biology, PE, Career Choices, World History</p>

<p>10th grade summer: about 90 hours of volunteer work in hospitals and health care centers</p>

<p>11th grade: Chemistry II, Physics, AP Government, CP English 11</p>

<p>11th grade summer: Harvard Secondary Summer School</p>

<p>12th grade: AP English 12, Spanish IV, Math Analysis(if offered)</p>

Student Council- 9,10,11,12 involved in a great deal of charity work

<p>Is it just me, or do people not generally refer to their friends as "me," as in "MY sophomore year?" (See Spanish Club)</p>

<p>It's okay...CC doesn't smite you for asking for your own chances. Just be frank about it, or people will think you're not being serious, especially if you have perfect or near-perfect (in your case) scores.</p>

<p>Your chances are good. And that's all I, or anyone else, should be able to tell you.</p>

<p>something tells me this is too good to be true, since you have a perfect SAT (but not ACT) score in rural Ohio and also perfect grades both in school and in CC. And how do you have 4 Mock Trial attorney awards AND 3 best witness awards in 3 years of high school? In NJ, you can't play more than one part at once per year.</p>

<p>ok, i admit this "friend" is me. Got me! As for the perfect grades, enderkin, it's no lie. I have had all A+s throughout my high school career, and yes, i have a life:)</p>

<p>How does that work in the actual trials themselves? How can you be a witness AND a lawyer at the same time? You'd have to get up and go to the witness stand, be questioned by your fellow lawyer and opposing attorney, then go back to the attorney table and start questioning the next witness, no? It seems like a logistical nightmare.</p>

<p>How do you keep your grades up high in the mock trial season, too? Practicing one part alone takes at least a couple hours per day, not to mention the actual trial dates themselves. the hell?</p>

<p>enderkin, this year i was a witness for the prosecution but a lawyer for the defense. i was effectively part of two teams. As for keeping up grades during Mock Trial season, I agree it is not easy. Our team invested hours and hours into practice. Happy to say I managed in the end:)</p>

as long as your essay is quality and your records clean you should have reletivly little trouble.
however, look to get some leadership positions in you activities that would help finish it off.</p>

<p>if they are, then you have fairly good chances at the schools you're applying to.</p>

<p>don't slack on the essay. Write one with a quality that is reflective of your scores and grades, and you should have a great shot at every school to which you apply</p>

<p>You are a val with a 2400 SAT and 2400 SAT II's. You will get into Ivies no doubt. You should be in at all save HYP and from HYP you'll...well...problably get into all three. I agree with cory...put a lot of time into the essays to clinch your fabulous work so far.</p>

<p>I think its pretty simple. Your not getting in to the ivies. Your scores just don't cut it. I mean you got a 2400 out of 2400, ivies only accept 2600 out of 2400, its strange. Also, your A+'s throughout your whole life are horrible, colleges want normal people, not superman. So, your not getting in. Also, I think that you coming with your perfect scores and what not to ask people if you are getting in is pretty ridiculous because you know your scores are basically perfect, and there is nothing else you really can do to improve. Again, your going to end up at a community college, your not ivy material.</p>
