My School NEVER sends anyone to HARVARD, EVER. is there such a thing as "blacklisting" a school?

Just chiming in...def check off hispanic!

lol Figgy, thx

but SADLY, I already checked off "biracial" and indicated that i was ** half MEXICAN and half ASIAN**

Will my 1/2 URM status still help me?

oooo damn, missed that opportunity. Not sure how they view biracial people. But don't worry, ur stats are strong no matter wat!

oh, but I am FLUENT in SPANISH, KOREAN and ENGLISH. Harvard has a place to list those, and I put down that i can read, write, and speak all three languages.

would that help?

I personally think biracial people should be 100% URM's... because there are so much fewer people with particular combinations (like Asian and African, Asian-European, European-Latin American, etc)

there are a lot of eurasians.

euro-latin american girls shd be given heightened status tho lol.

Those SAT scores could be HIGHER so it might be a REACH.

I hope you didn't do your entire application in CAPS. :P

ya i know my SATs suck. damm. lol why am i so bad at reading?!?! aarRRGg

any more comments on my chances at HARVARD?
so would my 1/2 URM status still help me?

I'm not sure at all about the 1/2 URM status thing but I think you have a good shot if they do take the hispanic part into consideration.

I hate to say this but u don't have 80% chance even (it's only my opinion alrite?!). Ur stats seem one sided (mostly Science) Ec is not varied. This will definitely go against u. Anyway, u'll have a tough competition.

lol ok. i have more stuff haha. wat if i started various charity drives that raise thousands of dollars each year? and the benefits go to UNICEF and SALVATION ARMY and stuff like that? i called the local businesses myself without any help from anyone, and managed to get over 20 sponsors.

would that help? im also getting a rec from the person who overseas these charitable events

That charity thing definitely helps. Self-motivated worker in order to better society...that's always a plus lol

isnt actually called Harvard College......

No, the whole thing is Harvard University. I think it would be a reach for you, but only because it's areach for virtually everybody.

Harvard: Slight Reach

I think you have an excellent shot of getting in. If you put Hispanic instead of mix i think you would have had a better than 50% chance of getting in. However, your stats are amongst the best I have seen. I think you have an excellent shot. Best of luck!

oh and i volunteer at a soup kitchen and a nearby hospital. ive gotten this stupid award for 250hrs or something at the hospital.

would these help?

lol sorry i keep forgetting these little things

People are overestimating the benefits of affirmative action. It won't hurt you too badly if you put mixed down.

bump,

any more thoughts on my chances?
