Thanks in advance!!:p

I think you have a decent chance, the only thing that you might want to do is try to raise your lit score and SAT score.

wow...those stats are amazing. i'd be surprised if they reject you.

what school do you go to, if you don't mind sharing?

Those awards and ECs are impressive, but the ranking of 10/400 is not. How many others from you school are applying to Harvard and Yale? Because if those others (1-9) apply and are accepted, your chances are essentially zero. Otherwise you have an okay chance. Everyone is a reach at Harvard, so to give you a better perspective, let me give a percentage:

The average applicant's chances at Harvard: 8% or so.
Your chances at Harvard: Around 32%

So, as you can see I don't expect you to get in, but I rank your chances at four times better than the average applicant. Give it a try and good luck to you.

P.S. Harvard rejected 3 out of 4 students who applied last year who were valedictorians of their class. (meaning they were first or tied for first in their class ranking).

hey,letmepass,i am from China;)
and Calcruzer...we only have 400 people in our grade, and the top 15 students at our class are also the most excellent ones in our district...:( very few people at my school apply for colleges in america .

Thank you guys:p

You have a good chance but not a sure one.

thanks,wrathofachilles.Any suggestions???

Just write a good essay and make sure that you get good recs. Also, you shoud prob take another SAT II since you have 2 math ones.

Also, where are you considering applying besides Harvard? Do you have any idea as to what you want to study?

You're the conductor of your school's orchestra?

That's not that rare. A kid from my school a few years ago was the conductor of our school's orchestra as well as a music prodigy. He's at Yale.

Music prodigies are rare. I dunno... that's just def. not how it works at any school I know no matter how good you are. But maybe that's just here...

I'd say a rank of 10 out of 400 is impressive. That's top 3%. They're not going to immediately disqualify the poster just because #7 applied too.

Take out the fluff for your own sake. You are a strong applicant without them.
