im applying to hopkins as ED, any ideas on my chances?</p>
<p>SAT I (may 05) 720m, 680cr, 660writing
SATI (oct 05) 740 m, 660 cr, 720 writing
highest compositie: 2140
SAT II's: 680 math iic, 660 physics (yea...not that high)</p>
<p>really really competitive high school, top 30%, no rank, gpa is 3.9
5 ap's by graduation: stat, econ (micro and macro), psych, lang, and calc
(not that many cuz my school has like qualifying tests for ap's, so its kinda hard to get in in the first place) but all other classes are accelerated/honors</p>
<p>ummmm black belt at karate, won some pretty big tournaments, including nationals in 2004, and 3rd place at nationals in 2003</p>
<p>piano for 12 years, won lots n lots of competitions, played in charnegie hall and steinway hall, accompanist for every music club/chorus possible, conductor/teacher to chorale (my schools elite singing group), won some talent shows in high school, lots and lots of fundraising activities for piano, nursing homes, AIDS benefits, etc. president of MusiCares (we go around to nursing homes and bring music to there lifes...hehe)</p>

<p>various jobs, usually involve teaching karate, including to special needs (physically/mentally ill) children, karate camp counselor, and rehearsal accompnist for musical</p>
<p>some other school activities: key club, modern issues, french mag, etc.</p>
<p>o yea, came to america when i was 10, dunno if that makes any diff
and my dad went to nanjing university, which is like the sister college of hopkins in china, dunno if that counts either...and if it does, my grandpa has been teaching there too, for like 35 years.
o, and i have a rec from my piano teacher who's alumni at peabody</p>
