I'm in 8th grade applying for 9th. My top choices are St. George's and Choate.
I've played tennis for 6 years. I play twice a week during the year and every day during the summer.
I've done art class for 4 years once a week.
I've been playing squash and lacrosse for one year. I play squash once a week and I played lacrosse twice a week last spring only.
I have a 3.8 GPA. I go to school in NYC so my school is harder that most other schools in the country already.
What are my chances at these schools?

SSAT score?

I got an overall 84% percentile in October but I’m taking the test again this Saturday and in January

84% is a solid score, and it’s in line w the average for Choate. You really want the bother of re-taking TWO more times?

I took the test again yesterday and I thought I did better but I still want to take it again to get as high as possible.

With all you’re sports and high ssat score, i think you have a very good shot at getting into choate. if you don’t need financial aid, you’re chances are almost 100

Plenty of full-pay applicants w impressive stats get rejected or WL. Being FP does NOT up your chance of admission to almost 100% at any of the top schools.

my aunt and my friend’s mother are admission officers at choate. i asked her and she said bc choate is not a need-blind school, therefore most people who are full pay and have impressive stats get in. it’s a different story for andover.
