what do you mean by QB?

questbridge. from their site: QuestBridge is a non-profit program that links bright, motivated low-income students with educational and scholarship opportunities at some of the nation's best colleges. QuestBridge is the provider of the National College Match.

i really can't say as im not familiar with the qb program...
gpa seems a little low but ecs are prettygood. no sat?

nope I took the ACT.

Harvard doesn't offer admission via QuestBridge.

Ok Then chances for YP and Columbia.

It sounds like you are not familiar with QuestBridge.

I hope you know it's due today.

Yes I know. I am finishing up the revisions on my last essay and will submit it in a few hours. I posted H because I believe you can still submit the Qb app to non QB app during Rd round.

so any comments on chances? Y is my number 1.

Harvard-Reject
Yale-Accepted
Princeton-Slight Reach

Yale seems to be the one to offer you the best chance according to my sources. Best of luck to you man.

^ sarcasm, Rutgers?

What the hell is your problem? Why must you always have a condescending reply to every post you make? Beat it.

Come on? Tell me the truth. I know they are all reaches. I just want to know how much of a reach. Whether its impossible or possible.

He has an amazing application compared to the normal people with just scores. Scores are nice, but there is so much more to an IVY styled app. than just scores. He has it, and that is why my assessment predicts him getting into said schools.

Well, Bronx HS is obviously a great school, and you're doing a lot of science club ECs but I'm a little worried at your lack of leadership in those clubs. No officer positions? You haven't given us your AP scores and most of your other test scores are expectations. Your grades are quite low, and while I can sympathize with your family's difficult situation, I'm not sure HYP adcom will give it much consideration. You say you're doing a research project, if it's of good quality and in line for publication this may help you out. Intel STS Semifinalist announcement should come out in time for you to report to your regular application colleges if you make it. Otherwise, as an Asian male from a competitive school district with no standout achievements, I think that HYP will be very hard for you to get into - sorry.

Thats what I thought.

If you write a killer essay about your father and the hardship it caused you, it will definitely be compelling for many adcoms. In addition, when they see someone who has chosen the path of education from someone in your socioeconomic class (less than 24,000), that looks very very powerful. Do not underestimate the power of that.

Well its 24,000 for the 2007 year. My mom's 2006 income was 13,316 and it was welfare before that.

Yeah, alot of people including myself cannot relate to the extreme financial issues your family has been in. But by being on welfare, it helps a lot. Rising up from rock bottom is extremely compelling. Best of luck to you.

Well 2 of my answers for QB are really good. My short answers are verypolished and revealing. However, my last essay is really bad. I guess I could nclude the essay about my father as one of my common app essays. Anyone wanna read my Qb essay like right away?
