bump thx.......

edited previous message.

1:6 (that would make you well better than the average applicant).

wow 1:6 is above avg? whoa thats hard...

The average at H. is 1:11, and that includes all the legacies, developmental admits, recruited athletes, desired URMS, etc. It is not much different at the others.

Do apply - you can't get in if you don't, but make sure to have some good matches and safeties - there are plenty of schools out there that offer an education as good (or better) than HYPS, just without the 'hyp'.

o ok i c thx. uh im actually looking into a science field perhaps teaching biochemistry or something as a college professor maybe, or perhaps engineering..... something towards the science. in terms of the math sat2, is 1C ok to take even if many people take 2C? i dont think i have time to take 2C anyway so i wanted to make sure 1C was ok too... my bio could have been better, but i want to make it up with chem this year... dam so many tests to take this yr.......

Hi man, thanks for posting on my chances thread; you helped me so I'll try and help you. First of all...WOW, in my opnion your stats are amazing. I can really see your love for music. I think you have a great chance, specially if you can get around 2200 on the SATs. The best of luck to you.

if you're going to be applying to HYPS as an intended engineering/science major, you need to take math IIC... and a 2200 is top notch, but just know that that's just an average score at HYPS.... a 710 is fairly low, even though it's not necessary to bring that up, as that probably wont be a hindering factor in your admissions process... if you intend to take part in music at those colleges, then keep up with the music thing, but volunteer work and very unique volunteer experiences make for good essay ideas and a cool personality...

dont ruin yourself and apply to only schools like such. fall in love with a safety, and apply to at least two sure bets. because you never know if all those top schools will reject you, and safety's can be funny too

thx a lot for ur advices! but wow 2200 is gunna be tough to reach buy ill definitely try..... yea and i regret that bio score, but i hope to make it up with the other sat 2s. if i can keep consistent by getting over at least 700 on every test, thats good too i guess. well anyway thx again!

o and also, does anyone know any "good" safety schools i can get into with my stats?

whats your state school?

i live in new york

Too many activities. Focus on one cable channel.

what do u mean?

I disagree with mensa160. Your extracurriculars show that you're able to put time into many different activities and still have significant accomplishments in all of them. Schools are looking for both well-rounded and lopsided candidates, but people on these boards seem to only be going after being lopsided :P

SUNYs would be good safeties for you. I'm wondering why you're taking the IC instead of the IIC--schools view it basically as the equivalent of another SAT I Math sitting. Some schools don't even accept the IC anymore.

I am jealous of those stats, oh my gosh. Obviously those are some of the hardest colleges in America to get into, but if anyone has a decent shot it's you.

If you'd reply to my thread that would be tight. I'm sad, no one cares about my chances.

what haha well i hope my standardized test scores are better though. those are what i seem to be lacking. thx for compliment godfather but i recall seeing ur stats a lot and i think u had amazing standardized test scores. for that i envy u.
