IU is one of my top choices and I have sent in my application and applied into the journalism department. I visited the campus and had one-on-one meetings with an admissions counselor, a journalism advisor, and the student newspaper advisor. I also attended 2 different schools so my weighted GPA is all honors/ap classes weighted (my new school doesn't weight honors/ap courses taken out of district so I am sending 2 transcripts) I also attend a top tier high school in CA that sends many graduates to top tier universities (Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Penn)

My UW GPA is 3.23
Weighted: 3.98
SAT: M: 650
CR: 590
W: 570
Have multiple extracurriculars including student newspaper (3 years) summer jobs at marketing company, democratic committee, and continued an anti-bullying program at my new school from my school in maryland.
I am also including a personal statement and extracurricular list.
Let me know what you guys think, opinions greatly appreciated!

hahaha thanks leila but i knew you would say that! (its jordan)

im sending 2 transcripts from different schools, my current one says my weighted is a 3.4, but the other one, which has my classes taken at my old school as weighted, would give me that 3.98 weighted.

^ Hahahah I knew it was you a couple of sentences into your post. Figured I’d post anyway just for the heck of it, and for some reassurance too. :)

Well, I submitted the application Sept. 14, and found out Sept. 30 that I got in. Yeah I checked online but I receieved notification originially via a phone call to make sure that they had gotten all of my application materials (they said in the phone call that as of that day I was admitted)

Have they updated your online status? I sent my stuff in on the third and still haven’t been notified though they’ve sent me my Wells Scholarship stuff so I know they got it. Idk…it’s getting tiring just waiting

that’s so weird, yeah they updated mine… idk if you’re cool with it but I called the office of admissions and they were really helpful about everything. they told me I was in before the online status was updated.
