ya...we don't rank. but i'm in the top 20% without weighted gpas >.< last yr we had 14 get in early, 17/18 ended up matrculating

we had 17/22 to harvard. 9 early though. last yr was a big yale EA year

the gpa could be major trouble for you but you should get into at least a few of the top schools

ya, i was suspecting id have problems with the gpa but was hoping that the difficulty of the courses would carry me through.

Justice:

Her GPA is not that low considering her course load. I thought most of the higher GPA kids take easy course load?

Azngirl:
Why are you taking only five courses? Why did not you end up taking six courses? Do you know the other JKC kids in 11th grade from other prep school? They will be competing with you also.

chinaman:
of course I know the other JKC kids! we had a JKC week in D.C. two summers ago, just to meet everyone else; we stayed in Georgetown. They're awesome and there are definitely some smart kids, one of whom goes to Exeter with me. He has a higher GPA but his classes are easier. On the other hand, Exeter has a limit of 5 core classes; music and sports don't count. You can audit a 6th course but my workload would be too overwhelming so I decided not to.

So Princeton will offer you a better deal in money as it offers less loan more in terms of grants. Good luck :).

ive heard harvard and princeton have the best financial aid packages. true?

its a great score, beats my 8th grade score. but one of my friends scored 1570 in 8th, lol.

why do you even ask wat ur chances are? isnt it obvious you'll get into an ivy?

Don't listen to rick101. No doubt about it you are an excellent student. Unfortunately at every Ivy you apply there will be about 500-2000 other applicants that have the same stats you have. You have a good chance but don't raise your expectations to high.

As for your SAT score in eigth grade.

You have shamed me.(tears)

The SAT score was for the Johns Hopkins Talent Search. I made SET (w/ a score above 700 on any subject) and ended up doing CTY. But even going to the Talent Search reception thing, I realized that many many 7th and 8th graders were smarter than me >.<

Azngirl, I think all of your incredible peers are spooking you. You are exceptional and will land at a great school. One thing I would say is to look at schools where Asians are not beating down the doors. There are incredible LACs where this is the case, and some ivys are more popular among Asians than others.

I really like sciences and possibly business. One of my main problems is not knowing what I want to do in the future. Assuming its either medicine or business (perhaps international), does anyone have any good schools?

bummmmmmmmmmmmmmmp~ any more?

Wow you've been pretty active on these boards qq.

first the prstats, and now this. WHOA.

If you went to Exiter Phellps (sp) Academy you're in very good condition. I'm pretty sure you would get into 1 of those school, espically with that SAT score in 7th grade.

haha...very funny mark. what do you do with your life? go searching on what i do? xP

I, too, am impressed with your SAT from seventh grade. I notice that you're a junior, and by the description of your school, I doubt you have exhausted all its opportunities. My advice: finish with your class in '06 and keep racking up the piano awards. Then you should be unquestionably in.

ZZ3

Please evaluate my stats in the "Princeton" or "What are my chances?" forums.

I didn't realize you could take your SAT in the 7 th grade. I 've learned something new.

GAH! Another Asian overachiever! Sighs... More people to compete with... Gawd, once again, I say, being Asian sucks.
