Penn

Princeton

All reach. Basic east coast kid or whatever. Normal ACT with an easy looking schedule. A lot of awards and ECs, but not really. A lot of them are just like "AP World History Got a 5" That is not an honor or award although it is an accomplishment.

Ok forget the AP tests. Offer some real commentary please. someone else?

i dont think any of those are a reach. 3.9 unweighted are you kidding me? thats incredible

I think you have good chances, just ignore those people who tell you your chances are low and that those schools are reaches. It may be a reach for everyone, I guess, but your chances are better than most IMHO.

fastMEd, you come off as absolutely obnoxious in many of your posts. I love how you strike people down all the time like you're some sort of expert. You're not even in college yet. Yes, you can do research, but that doesn't qualify you to give someone such detailed chances. I realize this was one of your much milder posts, but some of the things you've posted are beyond me.

hey man, I am just telling my opinion as it is. I've seen some real beasts from my school get rejected from top schools. 2400,4.5, usamo, and all that jazz. I've noticed that people on CC have gotten much more generous over the past few months. When has Princeton not been a reach for anyone other than Harvard caliber applicants?

This guy is applying to Princeton and Columbia and such, and you are telling me that he is a match? Striking them down? Hardly. Ok. I admit. I was a bit quick in copying and pasting. This guy is probably slight reach for Northwestern and WashU, but other than that, I really wouldn't change anything except write big reach for Princeton and such.

I can understand Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth and Brown being reaches. However, considering the average stats and relative acceptance rates of Northwestern, Chicago (which focuses on non-statistical factors), and Washington, I just don't understand you labeling them "reaches." At least compared to PCDB, they are not reaches.

fastmed, this board is not the Grudge 2, btw.

What scores do I need on the SAT IIs to maintain current chances or increase them? What should I shoot for on the November SAT I?

bump (10char)

Were honors/aps offered at your school in 9th and 10th? what % at your schol go to ivy level schools.

Might want to look at Duke,Georgetown, and some good LAC's like Holy Cross or Bowdoin.

No, at my old school (9-10 grade) everyone took the same level of courses. It was a small school.
