-Princeton ED (i applied already)
-Penn Wharton
-Harvard
-Yale
-Stanford
-Cornell (applied last year, rejected RD)
-Dartmouth (applied last year, rejected RD)

Chances please!!! BUMP!

Where are the safety schools that you love?

(You can figure out the chances as well as anyone else. You know the overall admission rates, and most post the rates for internationals. You know how your SAT scores relate to the 75th percentile of students attending. What is it that you are missing?)

I've already got a guaranteed deferred entry at the University of Warwick in England for Economics (ranked No. 2 in UK for the subject). Thats my safety so im just applying to reaches this year.

Admission rates make no sense on a personal level. Each individual is either a possible admit or a possible deferral or possible reject. Thats the whole point of "Chances".

Okay. No better than between 1 out of 20 and 1 out of 5 (using the stats of the colleges themselves.) You might be helped by not applying for financial aid.

BUMP my post!!! C'mon people...give me some feedback

dude, you need more safeties. i mean, i wish you the best of luck and all, but those are all tough schools to get into, especially since you are an international applicant who has gotten rejected before

if you read my post, I already have a safety...

callthecops...are you sure it wise to be disclosing all these details about you?....any random adcom could easily identify you out of all the applicants with your strange ethnic background/citizenship.....i guess just dont make a bad impression

bump................

You could VERY well get rejected from all 7 of those schools. You need to lower your standards a bit.

bump..................

bump.........................

well he already kinda has a safety, which is a great school btw, i know someone who's goin there

just apply and hope for the best, u have decent-good chances especially with the cool stuff u did during ur gap year

Question: why do ppl like to study economics? I looked into it briefly, and I learned this:

Economics is very complicated and hard to predict, and, even if predictable, is impossible to make money off of.

So why study it?

economics rocks, I want to study the same thing, but I also want to get a dual degree in finance. You can do tons of stuff with a degree in economics. And I really think its all about passion. Why do poeple study math? Why do people study medicine? Why do poeple study architecture? Its jsut out of passion, or at least thats how I chose what I want to study.

yes, but economics seems centered on money, and money is no fun unless ur spending it

you need some impressive scores. even though the ivies claim that they look at CHARACTER, there is an inevitable breakoff point that consists of SAT scores, GPA, and class ranking. How are they going to go through 40000 applicants just by looking at individual character? Admissions policy is objective? Objective it can be....but there is an inevitable standard for the ivies. Your ECs may help you but don't count your chances on them.

how much do you think i will be helped by not applying for FA at Penn and others?

bump...................
