Chances at Ivy's, MIT, Stanford

As a senior who is about to apply to college, I am very nervous about my chances of getting into top institutions. I would like to ED/EA into UPenn, Harvard, or Stanford, but I would like to confirm that it wouldn't be foolish of me to waste my Early opportunities at a school I have little chance of getting into.

English is not my first language and I've moved to 4 countries and 10 different schools in my life if that helps at all for college admission purposes

Unweighted GPA: 3.98 / 4.0
Weighted GPA: 4.75 / 5.0
Rank: top 5 / 700-800 student in a fairly good public school

SAT: 2200 - pretty lackluster so I'm thinking of only submitting ACT scores
SAT 2: 800 on Math 2 and Physics
ACT: 35 composite in one sitting
AP: 5's on Physics B, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Statistics, English, and Chinese

My course schedule is extremely rigorous; I've taken all the AP classes that can fit in my schedule. For example, in my junior year, I took 7 AP classes and it was reeeeeally stressful but I made it out alive.

Other:
I have 2 pretty good letters of recommendation from my teachers. Working on polishing up my essays. My interview skills are pretty good as well and I feel comfortable talking to people.

I have a kid at my school with almost the same stats including extracurricular says you, do you by any chance live in Coppell, tx

Unfortunately it is not one of those coincidences; I don’t live in Coppell, Tx

I think you have a great chance for all of them assuming you can write a brilliant essay! good luck!

Do you have any hooks (legacy, URM, great athlete)? If not, I’m still sure you would have a fair chance at UPenn (I’m from Philly and I know a bunch of people who go to Penn (like 20+)…don’t know much about Harvard or Standford). Your scores are great and you have leadership in a bunch of different clubs.
You just have to write great essays that really tell something about you. Try to talk about an outside experience that has affected your ideals in your personal statement. Maybe you can talk about the fact that you went to 10 different schools but don’t focus too much on immigration. If you decide to apply to Penn, make sure you connect your activities with Penn in the Penn Supplement. You MUST write an interesting and convincing essay to get into Penn. Avoid cliches like Vanderbilt’s lovely ceilings. Also an admission’s officer once told me don’t list in the Penn supplement. Talk about 1 or 2 things at Penn that you really really love not 5 or 6. Talking about Future Buisness Leaders would be great if you are applying to Wharton. CAS can be almost anythingMath Club for SEAS.
You probably already knew most of this but just in case you didn’t. Ask me anything about Philly or even Penn’s campus if you are wondering. Good luck! I encourage you to apply to UPenn. Go Quakers!

So many grammatical errors in that last comment! Sorry.

If Penn is in ur top 3, go ED with the Penn because Harvard, Stanford (and other schools like that) don’t care if you apply early or not (unless you have legacy). The ED acceptance rate for Penn is 25% which shows how big a difference ED makes.

If you are really serious about Harvard or Stanford, apply early there. It is near impossible to make them in regular decision, while you still have a shot at Penn.

You have as good of a chance as anyone for getting into these schools.

^agreed. I also think you have a slim chance at Harvard and Stanford so it might not be worth your time there, because there are a lot of qualified applicants there. You have a decent chance at the rest!! Good luck

Thanks you so much for your responses! I’ll definitely keep them in mind as I decide which college to ed/ea

Any input/advice/thought/comment is greatly appreciated

To be truthful, you need to have stellar scores and stellar stats in order to be accepted to any one of these schools. Try considering other options, do you know what you want to major in?

I’m thinking of either business or engineering; it depends on which school though

bump please

Stanford, Harvard: Very low chance (EA or RD)
Penn ED: Low Reach
