Chances at JHU BME. and then at EE

Hey guys I am really interested in BME at JHU but I don’t know how I stack up against the others. I’ve done well in high school but I don’t know what kind of chance I have. My backup major is Electrical Engineering (which I am also interested in) so, if you could, chance me for that major as well.

I am a SoCal resident

White
SAT: 2290 (770M, 720R, 800 W) (1490 with CR and M only cuz JHU doesn’t look at W)
SAT 2: 770 M2, 770 USH, 780 Physics
GPA: 4.00 UW, 4.75/5 W
National Merit Commended Scholar

AP courses: 5 so far and taking 4 this year
Tests: Calc AB 5, Euro 4, World 4, Physics 1 4, Lang 4, USH 4

ECs:
Decent amount of random volunteer stuff (150hrs~)
Club Prez of 2 clubs (One is for cleaning beaches and another is for random volunteer stuff)
National Honors Society
Link Leader for 2 years

Work Experience:
I had an engineering internship 140 hours at a large company
Worked for 2 and a half months for a clothing company (they relocated)
interned for a congressman (30 hrs~)

Essays:
I feel pretty solid about them both (8-9/10)
Recs: I have no idea I have never seen them but I chose my teachers well

I have no official experience in the field of medicine, and my scores in math are a bit low so I feel like I don’t really have a shot, but chance me anyway.
Also, do I have a solid shot at EE?

Don’t know about EE too much, but everything looks pretty good. I feel that your SAT scores are a little below-average, but your chances are definitely at least average.

(Current BME)

First of all keep in mind that Hopkins doesn’t practice admission by major except for BME. So being admitted for EE is theoretically no more competitive than being admitted to any other major.

You’re objective stats are competitive for BME (and Hopkins in general) as are your ECs. From what I understand, the BME admissions committee looks favorably on internships and research experience. Good luck.
