Chances at JHU ED!

but one would presume it's harder to get an 800 in math iic, because it is more inclusive of topics through precalculus...?

hey cujoe its because math IIc is harder is has a larger curve therefore lowering the percentage. therefore 1 wrong on math 1c will geneally drop u atleast 30 points but still keep u top 98% while 6 wrong on math IIc will give u 800 but only 90% as there is a larger range of possible 800s.

don't take this the wrong way, but i had a good laugh when you posted "normally my language is fine, its just i can't do good on verbal."

anyway, i think JHU is a good match for you, and applying early probably helped a lot. however, i don't see spectacular ECs, or at least, any that seem to be all that unique or that you spend much time on. honor societies are great and all, but colleges tend to not give them very much weight.

now, in terms of the other colleges:
Columbia: reach
Cornell: match
Brown: i would say match, but your writing/verbal scores really are not too spiffy in terms of brown's standards.
NYU: match
SUNY: safety
BU: safe match
GeorgeTown: i'm not familiary with gtown's stats at all...
Emory: match
U of Chicago: safe reach - again, the verbal scores hurt, and also, you don't have really any distinguishing characteristics, which is what uchicago really likes to see in prospective students.
Duke: reach
Carnegie Mellon: match

you took the math sat ii's twice? for fun? after you got an 800 already?

What are you thinking?

I got Deferred :(!!

Don't worry u'll be fine... My friend got accepted ED and she has almost same profile as u.. maybe even worse.. but she is top 5% in a really good school... I was also accepted ED but got deferred for JHU BME major... =(

No, because generally people who take 2c know they will score very high, otherwise why take it, am I right? 2c is much harder than 1c, I got perfect 800 on 1c but didn't break 700 on 2c
