Chances at JHU, GTech, Tufts, Boston U, Vanderbilt, Duke

<p>I am applying to these schools, JHU early decision. </p>

<p>SAT 740m 650v
SAT2 Math2 790 Math1 750 Writing 670
8 APs by senior year- Stats-4 on AP test
5 APs senior year
10/260 in a very competitive public school
GPA 3.9 UW
Great Recommendations, Very good essay
Three Sport Varsity Athlete, Football, Hockey, Track
Honor Society, SADD, steady job, Student Gov't, many other community activities.
White male from massachusetts
Interesting in BME or Premed</p>

<p>Yeah, you seem fine for those schools...well, maybe not Duke.</p>

<p>good for all those schools except JHU is a slight reach and Duke is reach.</p>

<p>Oh man, PLEASE dont go to JHU unless you can handle it. A friend went there and we joke that the WORST thing anyone who is premed could do is go there. If you are at the top of your class you can go anywhere, but so many kids get weeded out for premed because its so intense. You'll see what I mean. Its the biggest myth in academia, that JHU will set you up for med school. Much better is to go to a place like Vandy or UNC and get a solid GPA.</p>

<p>Thanks for all the feedback, i have heard more and more about how JHU is so academic and very tough. I am up for the challenge but it is definately a big reach. If there are any other school anyone would recommend, then i would appreciate that, Goodluck to everyone else on this site.</p>
