TOEFL: 82 IBT (However LUC and DePaul didn't request for them)
GPA: 2.83 weighted (4.0 scale)
AP: World History(5), Language and Composition (4), Music Theory (taking this year), Psychology (taking this year).
Rank: N/A (my high school does not rank students)</p>

<p>Neither of my parents went to college (highest degree: some high school).
I have taken 4 full years of Japanese, and I have 2 language credits for Korean (listening and writing tests I took back in 9th grade)
I go to a public high school in Fairfax County, VA (recognized by US News and World Report as a silver medal school)</p>

<p>Intended major for LUC: music (violin)
- I do not know if my counselor wrote a very strong letter of recommendation because I am not allowed to see it, but I trust her and believe that she wrote a very honest and strong one for me.
- I sent LUC my music resume that includes all the repertoire I have played, orchestras I have been in, leadership rolls I had, awards and recognitions I have received, and secondary instrument and its awards (classical piano - 12 years)
- My essay was reviewed by two Yale music graduates, and they both agreed I wrote a very powerful essay about my goals in music.</p>

<p>Intended major for DePaul: psychology
- Along with my counselor's letter of recommendation, my AP Psychology teacher (also had me for psychology and sociology last year) wrote me a letter.
- My transcript had a problem reaching DePaul. Through this, I got to get to know a freshman admissions counselor, and she and I have been getting in touch with each other since then.</p>

<p>Not sure if your still interested in applying, but here’s what I think:</p>

<p>LUC: No idea because I’m not familiar with their music program nor any other. But even for general addmission your GPA is a bit low. Did it go up after this past semester?</p>

<p>DPU: You’re on the border, but I would think you’re in since you’re a minority and a first generation college student. If you don’t have any D’s and/or F’s then this will work in your favor. Again, any boost in GPA would be helpful. </p>

<p>My ACT was about the equivalent of your SAT score and I got accepted to both school. However, I had a 3.43 GPA. </p>

<p>I would recommend applying early to both schools and call them to follow up.</p>
