I am currently a Freshmen at NC State and would very much like to transfer to the London School of Economics and Political Science. I was wondering what my chances were for the Economic History program.

I got 5s in AP US History, European History, Psychology, US Government, and Comparative Government.

I got 2 As from my Econ 101 and 20th Century European History Course at Chapel Hill and am currently taking a smattering of history and economic courses at NC State. Assuming I maintain good grades in those what does someone suppose my chances at the
London School of Economics are?

I believe that British universities do not accept transfer students.

I know you have to apply as a freshmen but I was going to send in my transcripts.

You won’t get in as a transfer student; they don’t accept transfers.
Your AP grades aren’t sufficient either, they usually require about eight to ten 5’s on AP exams (from my experience; I got in with 8). Your best bet if you really wanted to try out LSE would be to take the “General Course” program in junior year (that’s the year abroad at LSE for Americans) but you won’t be able to transfer, no.

Basically, the British education system is regarded as “harder” than the US one and so the first year of university in UK is equivalent to the second year of college in America. What year are you thinking of transferring into? because if you are going into the second year of college in USA then you would basically be a freshman applicant in the UK.

Also, UK unis rely a lot more on interviews with their potential students compared to - from what I gather- American unis. It is compulsory you do an interview, may it be on the phone or in person, if you get through the first round.

Good luck, you seem to have a fair chance of getting in :)

i am interested in the LSE a general course so as know which sudjects are easier ti get into

there is econ intl history finace social policy and would want to do easy courses for my gpa

who has done this?

I will be going in as a junior and will apply to do the year Long course in The London School of Economics don wnt to get too tired!
