I'm currently a freshman at Pomona College with a 3.33 GPA. I'm not involved in anything here, mostly because I have been really unhappy and therefore unmotivated. However, I was extremely involved (theatre, choir, athletics, literary magazine, etc.) in high school. Will that redeem me, or just make me look like a slacker who worked hard to get into college and then gave up?

Also, I'm having a really hard time with professor recommendations...would it be better for me to go with a professor who knows me well (even if I didn't do really well in his class) or to get a less in-depth recommendation from someone whose class I do get good grades in?

Aghh. I really hate having to go through this process all over again :( Any help about what my chances would be in general, or particularly if you know anything about transferring to Macalester, would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!
