Chances at Maryland

I am completely agonizing over wether or not I will get into Maryland. Honesty is greatly appreciated.

I'm a Maryland Resident and I put down History as my intended major.

1910 Sats 630 Math, 610 Verbal 670 Writing (I did much worse on writing my second time though)

3.47 unweighted 4.41 weighted gpa

38 out of 251 in my class

Numerous APs and Honors Courses

Captain of the Cross Country and Track Teams

Member of the National Honor Society and a bunch of other activities.

I've also spoken to Maryland's ROTC department and have expressed interest.

I'm also applying to Hofstra and Towson University, but I'm almost positive I will get in at those 2.

You're in without a doubt. You have nothing to worry about.

I agree with Kash_Money. You are in because your SAT is high and class rank is high. Although you have a low GPA, your course load will help you.

His GPA is actually really high for UMD, especially his weighted GPA.

Thanks alot for the replies. I feel more confident now. I was just really worried because U of Maryland College Park keeps getting more comptetive and a few of my friends were applying with really good stats. Plus my SATs are barely above the lower 25th percentile and I thought my GPA and class rank weren't too great.

Luckily, I had a really good 1st quarter this year so my GPA and rank moved up a bit to the ones I put down.

Bump

Any other opinions?

Youre in for sure...dont worry about it, just be excited instead of nervous

Sorry to bump this again, but I was talking to my guidance counsuler today and although she wrote me an excellent reccomendation she says I still am completely on the bubble. Any ideas why?

PS:I promise this is my last bump.

no clue...you seem like a very good candidate

Maybe my cousnuler was looking at solely SAT scores.

I also have an unrelated question, but didn't want to start a new topic.

Its too late for a few colleges, but for ones i havent applied to yet, should I include my AP test scores?

UR in no doubt in state, 4.1 at my private school someonne i no got into the engineering school, which is one of their hardest schools with a 3.5 weighted
