Chances at McGill or NYU (chance back)

I was basically wonder what my chances are at McGill (and nyu) for a student from NY. I plan on majoring in economics or finance.
I am going into my junior year with a 3.65 UW gpa. I took 2 AP’s last year (physics and world history) and got a 4 & 5. I will be taking 3 more AP’s this year as well and plan on getting at least a 30 on the ACT and bring up my gpa to a 3.7. I know McGill doesn’t care much about EC’s, but what do you think my chances would be? Thanks

GPAs a little low, but not too bad. Shoot for a 31-32 to really be solid. I don’t know much about McGill but if they don’t care about ECs then you should be okay with good essays. I know a lot about NYU though, they definitely care about ECs, so try to acquire a leadership position and great essays and recs to get in there. Good luck!

Assuming a 30 on the ACT, I think it will come down to how good your ECs are. If you earn leadership roles in 1 or 2 clubs/sports teams, you’re chances will be increased a lot at NYU. I think you should get in. On the other hand, McGill is one of the best schools in Canada. That being said, I think that will be a bit of a reachreach for you, but definitely doable. At my school, people that go to McGill typically have a 4.4 GPA and a 2200 SAT score (which is a 33-34 on the ACT). Maybe that’s just the area I’m from, but nonetheless McGill is a fantastic school.

Chance me back please??
