i know my gpa is kind of low but i just wanted to know my chances of getting in.

What program are you looking in to?

depends on the program...both your SATs and GPA are low for McGill's average...it's good to have a 1300, or at least a 1280 on the SATs.

basically McGill's rankings of importance in admissions criteria:
GPA
test scores

ecs

So my advice would be to take the ACT and see if you get a better composite than your SAT score :) And I would definitely try for McGill--I can't really accurately evaluate your chances but you can definitely apply, it's an easy easy application, and see what happens.

i was thinking business but not sure is there like a libral arts where you can take lots of different courses until u knwo what u want to major in. also is there an esay for the application

In terms of flexibility...

There is no option to enter as "undecided" or anything like that...you have to pick a faculty. That being said, a lot of people switch faculties after their first year. Business I've heard is a lot more open than say, science (my program: you have four core classes one semester, three the next, they recommend you only take four classes a semester but you can do five if you really want). Business I think you have a couple of core classes and then for the rest you can do electives.

When you apply to McGill, you must pick two program choices, a first and a second, and they will be evaluated separately. My advice--arts is one of the easiest programs to gain admittence too...so apply for business or whatever you really want as your first choice, then arts as your backup, then if you get rejected from business but accepted into arts, you can take business courses as electives and then transfer to business for your second year.

For the general application, there is no essay...it's quite straightforward. The individual departments may require one, but to my knowledge there isn't one :)

bonne chance!

thanks, also do u know the averages for applicants the last year?
