Chances at Merit Scholarships?

Is that for both OOS and in state ?

I’m a Florida resident, but I’m not sure if they knew that when I emailed, so I’m assuming its for both OOS and in-state.

They told me all oos emails went out last night (wed)

Were emails sent to the student’s UF email address???

@pacollegekid97‌ No, my sister received hers through her personal e-mail.

We have the same question. My son has a 2150 on the SATs and got an OOS waiver from FSU. There’s no OOS waiver

For those asking, I received the scholarship information through my personal email, not the email that UF provides for you. And the email was sent March 18th (all the scholarships have been sent on that day, and no more are being sent.) My father called and UF said that no more merit scholarships are being sent out/emailed.

That’s confirmed. No money for us from UF, but my son got his OOS waiver from FSU, which was his preference anyway. So good news anyway.

@Newtownunit - wow, a 4.0 and 2150 SAT and no out of state scholarship for your son? Would love to know what the tests scores and GPA were for those that did receive something from UF. They must have been incredibly high! Good luck at FSU by the way.

My SAT of 2050 was a little low, but my unweighted GPA is 4.0, didn’t get any money either.

do we know when the financial aid and need based money is released?

I felt good with a 3.9, 2120, and some really good ECs. Kind of let down, but my congratulations to everybody who received an award

My twin sister who received the award got a 1780 SAT and 3.9 gpa while I got a 1940 and 4.0 gpa and received nothing. We both had the same exact extracurriculars and community service so I don’t know what criteria UF based their scholarships on this year but congrats to anyone who received it!

Just saw this post as we have been out of town. Has anyone who is a Florida Resident been offered a scholarship?
Also wondering if anyone who is ALSO a National Merit Scholar/Finalist been offered a scholarship? Just wondering if they skipped over NM students since they will be receipting the FIS anyway.

GPA 4.4
SAT 2280
6 AP tests… all 5
SAT2 800, 800, 780
OOS… $0.00

@mischwartzmd that is crazy!

Yes to confirm above posters: All merit based scholarships have gone out from the admissions department but not from financial aid which may still have additional scholarship offers later in the spring with a small portion of those merit based. My D had very high stats and is a National Merit Scholar, AP scholar with distinction, varsity athlete in three sports etc… and received nothing either.

Have any Florida residents on here already received merit scholarships? Because when I emailed the admissions office two days ago, they made it clear that they were being mailed out (hardcopies) at the end of last week/beginning of this week. I’m getting worried now :frowning:

UF does not give out much in merit aid so, if you haven’t received anything yet, I wouldn’t count on it.

The admissions office said all notifications have ALREADY been emailed out. If it is need based, awards from financial aid will come later.
