Chances at Michigan schools?

Hi, I'm making this chance thread just to get a general idea my admission chances. I plan on applying to the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. I am in-state.
I am a Palestinian born in the West Bank and have lived in the USA for 15 years and I am a US citizen. I visit the West Bank every two years or so and I can speak another language besides English. Technically I'm not an URM because middle-eastern is considered white. I am a rising senior in highschool and have a 3.9 GPA unweighted. I go to a small school and am ranked 3 out of 103 kids in my class. Our school doesn't weigh GPA's and only offers two or three "advanced classes" which I took. I am taking the hardest classes next year which include Calculus, Physics, and English 121 and I'm also dual enrolled at the local community college. I got a 27 on my ACT and I plan on retaking it in September.

I've been on the Varsity Track team for three years. This is my second year in the National Honor Society where I have about 45+ volunteer hours (low, I know), I'm a Science Olympiad competitor where I took place in the Helicopter, and Design events, and I took sixth in state for a project I built in wood shop class. I attended Boys State where I served as Prosecuting Attorney and won all of my cases. What are my chances?

I think you have a very good chance at both schools. For Michigan State, you’re ACT is well within the middle half of applicants. It’s a little low for UM, but your GPA, class rank, life story, extra curriculars and in-state status will help. Most people can retake and improve their ACT scores.

Your’re likely already in at MSU, and a very high probable at UM, especially if you raise your ACT score. Which school will depend on what you want to study, financial aid (if that’s important) and which school you feel most comfortable at. I strongly suggest visiting both schools to get a feel for the culture and ambiance of each campus.

Good luck!

Anyone else?

I think you have a good shot. Try to retake the ACT. That will improve your chances, but other than that I think you are good.
