Chances At Midd?

Okay, sorry, I just really would like to see what you people think.

GPA: 4.7/6.0, rising GPA, came as a new 11th grader (Midd seems to accept everyone with a 5.0+ and 1400+ (old) SATs, its a top school, Phillips Academy Andover)
SATs: 1500/2210 (750M, 750V, 710 W)
SATIIs: 760 Bio, 750 Chem, 720 Math I
Student Body Vice President (Only after 6 months at the school)
Varsity Soccer/Club Soccer (2 years)
Registered Pilot (120+ hours flight time)
Acapella, Tenor (2 years)
Built a wind turbine over the summer (middlebury has a turbine of their own)

NOLS Honor Graduate

APs: Bio- 5 Chem- 4 And I will be taking 4 more by the end of the year

Classes - BC Calculus (AP), Advanced Spanish Lit (AP), Envi. Sci (AP), English, Comparative Gov. (AP)

Legacy (my mom, '75)

I think a good common app. essay, slightly less good supplemental essay
Strong Reccomendation Letters From my teachers
Very strong counselour recs.

I applied EDII...very nervous.

You're probably wondering why I don't ask my college counselor about this, well I have, and he says around 50/50, but I think that might be conservative, I'm pretty sure legacy status will help a lot. I don't know though...honest opinions?

I agree with your counselor pretty much. You've got your SATs M+V (75th percentile at Midd), pretty good ECs, and the legacy thing going for you, but the GPA is working against you. OK, maybe a bit better than 50/50, 55/45 maybe, but don't be surprised if you're deferred or rejected. Midd is tough to get into, even for legacies.

bump (10 char)

i think you are in, because not only are you a legacy at midd (which counts for a lot) you are applying ED 11 which sig. helps, and youve got strong ecs and sats and youre gpa may not be that great but youre go to a competitive school which is a completely different from getting a mediocore gpa at a public school

bump bump bump

bumpity bump bumpa bump, thanks so far for the input... I'll let this thread die soon enough

Yea I agree, I think you have pretty good chances... more like 60-65/40-35. I'll say 63%+ chance of admission :-)

****, I wanted 64.82803+%

Last bump, promise.
