Colleges I'm applying to:
Stanford University
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Harvey Mudd College
Vanderbilt University
University of Notre Dame
Johns Hopkins University
SUNY University at Buffalo
Northeastern University

Any comments or advice are welcome. I'll chance back. :)

This is just me, so don’t ask for sources or facts or anything; I’m just going to say that they’re all really hard schools to get into… (:

Stanford: 40%ish
MIT: 30%ish
Notre Dame: 80%
Johns Hopkins: 50%
SUNY: 100%
Northeasten: 100%

yup!

When you say that you are not submitting an SAT score, does that mean you have taken it? If you have, Stanford requires that you submit your scores even if you are submitting the ACT. Granted, it is doubtful hat they will find out if you don’t, but that is what their policies ask for.

<a href=“Standardized Testing : Stanford University”>Page Not Found : Stanford University;

Yes, thanks for reminding me. SAT 1890.

Never mind about my numbers, then.

Honestly, if Stanford is your dream, DO NOT report that score; even though it is required.

I’m a sly fox, so that’s just my opinion, but if integrity is important to you, then report it (but it can only hurt).

If your not going to show Stanford your SAT score( and in my opinion if it is 1840 you really shouldnt) then my advice is you shouldnt submit your subject tests either. Universities will get suspicious as to why you took subject tests without taking a regular SAT test first, and some may not believe you. My advice to you is:
either you just submit your ACT scores
OR
you redo your SAT, get a much higher score and then submit all 3

I’m now considering retaking the SAT in October. If I don’t, I’ll submit the 1890 anyway. I don’t want to risk getting my admission rescinded, I’d rather get rejected in the first place.

@thesoxpride10. I would not worry about the SAT score since you have ACT 33 and SAT2 of 800s. Since you are applying from an underrepresented country like Panama and English is not your native language Stanford will understand about the SAT score. Even most Americans cannot achieve a score of ACT 33 which is excellent. Apply REA and take your best shot. Good luck!

When I self report the SAT does that mean it will be sent to all the other colleges on my Common App?

Also, can I get some opinions on the other universities on the list?

Stanford University- high reach
Massachusetts Institute of Technology- high reach
Harvey Mudd College- match
Vanderbilt University- low reach
University of Notre Dame- match
Johns Hopkins University- mid reach
SUNY University at Buffalo- match
Northeastern University- match

I think you have good sat 2s and URM will help!
Thanks!

I’d be a bit worried about AP Calc AB (not BC) and AP Physics B (not CM or CEM). Does your school offer the more advanced courses? Why didn’t you take them?

@FCCDAD‌
They aren’t offered at my school. I self studied most of BC last year but the administration prevented me from taking the test. (In theory I could have taken it but they would have removed my AP Calc AB from the transcript and replaced it with just Calculus I)
