what are chances for:
Williams
Haverford (legacy. My dad went there, although I'm not sure if they say they consider legacy)
Harvard
MIT
Princeton

Also, I have set up to do some research this coming summer.. I was wondering if that would be worth mentioning (I probably have to mention to the colleges that I retook the SAT, as I didn't mention it on the common app. So should I add this?)

Today, I won 2nd place in chemistry, 2nd place in math, and 2nd place in the math and science bowl at a statewide math and science tournament.. Should I send these in when I mention that I retook the SAT? Or will they look down on 2nd place?

MIT, Harvard and Princeton are reaches for everyone, as I'm sure you've heard before. To get in here, I think you'd need some AMAZING EC's and then you'd at least have a chance. You don't have EC's like that, so, to say the least, don't get your hopes up for these.

Williams seems more likely, not a reach, but more of a match. However, Williams is still highly selective and is known for rejecting Ivy-Caliber applicants.

Haverford also seems like a match/safety.

I think you could use a definate safety, however. Something which accepts in the range of 30 - 40 % of applicants, you'll get into these definately.

Harvard/Princeton aren't reaches for anyone. They aren't matches, either. They're crapshoots, so the best anyone can say is "you have a good chance," which is the case, I think, for the OP.

I was wondering though.. when I mention that I retook the SAT I this January, should I mention that I have set up to do some research over this summer and should I mention the 2nd places located on the 3rd reply above this one?
