Chances at MIT?

Hello all,

I am a Latino senior at a public school in Missouri. I plan on majoring in computer science, and my dream school is MIT. Can you all please rate my chances of going to MIT? Here’s all my college stuff.

GPA: 4.26
ACT: 35, 36 in Math and Science
SAT Subject Tests: 800’s in both Physics and Math 2
AP: 5 in Calc BC, Physics 2, Physics 1, Computer Science, 3 in AP Gov (that’s killing me, but I hope they won’t care too much about a government AP)
PSAT: 1480, National Merit Semifinalist (hopefully finalist by the end of the year, I won’t hear back about that until after applications)
Senior Year Classes: Honors Introduction to Engineering Design, AP Statistics, AP Chemistry, Piano, Digital Design, English 4
Extracirriculars:
Finalist at the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair
2nd place in the St. Louis Honors Division Science Fair (with a scholarship of $2,000 dollars)
Got a special mention from both NSA (National Security Agency) and the American Statistical Association for outstanding research work.
Recieved the Sun Edison Semiconductor Award for Outstanding Scientific Research.
Took courses in Computer Science and Statistical Modeling at Carnegie Mellon University, recieved 2 A’s.
Leader at the St. Louis Academy of Science’s Youth Leadership Team.
Part of school sports design team that won NASA’s National Spaced Out Sports Design Challenge (got to meet an astronaut from the ISS because of it)
Compete on my school’s scholar bowl team, and last year we won 2nd place at the state-wide competition and qualified for the national tournament.
Compete in speed Rubik’s Cubing, went to a competition held by the World Cubing Association and placed top 20 in speed 3x3x3
Compete in Chess, placed 2nd in the Gateway West Conference on board 4.
Placed 1st out of all students at my school in the Excellence in Mathematics Competition, placed 6th in St. Louis.
Member of my School’s Robotics club
Compete for school Science Bowl Team
Compete for school Chess Club (I’ve got like 10 or so trophies from small tournaments here and there)
Member of National Honor Society

Leadership: (this part is pretty weak)
President of school Rubik’s Cubing Club
Leader at the St. Louis Academy of Science Youth Leadership Team
Leader at the High School Hispanic Leadership Institute in St. Louis
Leader at the Ballwin Polic Leadership Academy

Volunteering:
85 hours tutoring in north St. Louis (super ghetto area right next to Ferguson)
16 hours from volunteering at the Special Olympics at my school
50 hours from the Youth Leadership Team (we set up different talks to try and get kids from disadvantaged backgrounds to become interested in STEM, and we collaborate with professors at SLU and WashU to get them to come and lecture).

With all that said, what’s my shot?

That’s a stacked resume - is this stuff even real? lmao. You should have a good shot as long as you don’t mess around.

Impressive! My suggestion is to apply EA. If your letters of recommendation are strong, and you have a decent interview, you have an excellent chance. Don’t worry about that AP Gov score. That won’t count against you.
