Chances at MIT

Nervous about asking...here it goes:
Junior
Unweighted GPA 3.7, weighted 4.4
SAT I = 1560 (780 math/verbal)
I am in AP Calculus BC this year; my school offers Calculus 3 and Differential Equations with college credit through Catholic University.
Gotten all A's in AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics B.
(Gotten a C first quarter for AP Lang, but A's since then.)
Plan on taking Calc3/D.E. next year, Physics C, AP computer Science, and AP Lit. Besides AP Lang, the only C I have ever gotten was in Algebra 2/Trig my freshman year. I have had three years of French and two years of Latin; I have not decided which one I will take next year.

I am an Eagle Scout with two palms. Graduated from National Junior Leader Instructor Camp in Philmont, NM. Staffed/Staffing Advanced Junior Leader Training in my Council.

At school, I am in the Latin Honor Society, the FIRST Robotics Team, and the Varsity Swim team. I have been swimming and active on my summer swim team since I was 11, including some coaching.

I taught myself how to program in C and C++, and manage my mother's home business network.

I plan on majoring either in Mathematics or Physics (or both).

Please be brutal; guidance counselors have been beating around the bush with me, and I would appreciate an honest answer. :-)

Chances are you won't get in (which are the chances for almost all of MITs applicants, even those accepted), but you never know. If you don't get in to MIT there will be plenty of schools that will want you, and the more schools you apply to obviously the better chance you have at getting accepted.

Yea, my friends sister applied with stats similar to yours, except she had a few more SAT/AP tests under her belt. I agree with ohnoes, but still, MIT is a reach for most anyway.

I don't know how important English is, but a C might mess you up. Good luck though.

I agree with the other posters. MIT is a long shot, but you will probably get into other great colleges.

This is OT, but do you go to Wilson HS?

Nothing very impressive really, sorry. Your chance of MIT is low.

So I got rejected from MIT, but accepted to Caltech. Please don't think that I am bitter or anything, but I don't know if I will ever understand what admissions officers REALLY want...
