<p>At least in theory, this is right. In practice... not so sure. That is to say, I'm not sure the admission of any particular person tracks well with the overall statistics. I mean, it's not like the admissions guys make piles of 8 similar people, then throw darts to decide which of the 8 they pick -- there's a rhyme and reason to it, but far be it from me to say what precisely that is.</p>
