Chances at NCSSM (2018)

So I’ve submitted most everything already but I’m really stressing out over NCSSM. We get our replies in April, and I really need some sort of reply good or bad, because otherwise I’ll be holding my breath and rejection might shatter me. I live in district 7 of NC I believe and I got an SAT score of 1200 (new scale), I have all A’s except a B I got in honers Chem. My GPA as of right now is a 4.2 and I’ve taken all Honors classes and an AP.

My class rank as of right now is 48 of around 450, my Highschool is small and doesn’t offer the best classes unless they are basic core.

I applied for NCSSM last year with one B and all else A’s, a 1400 SAT score, almost all honors classes, but no APs. I got denied because apparently 1400 isn’t high enough for my district. I live in Wake County, which just so happens to be insanely competitive, so take that with a grain of salt. They told me that if I lived literally five miles north of where I actually live, I’d have easily gotten in. Mildly infuriating, but I moved on. Assuming you live in district 7, I’d bet you have a better chance than I did. Even if you don’t make the first round, you still will have a chance at the waiting list. I wish you the best of luck!
